The topics of this course consist of the historical development of Southeast Asia in different eras, the influence of Western nations affecting Southeast Asia, the changes in Southeast Asia during World War II to the present day in the economy, politics, society and culture, relations between Southeast Asia with the world’s superpowers and neighboring countries, the case study of changes in Southeast Asia in economic, political, social and cultural dimensions to apply such knowledge for the management of social studies learning.

This course aims to provide the historical, philosophical, social, and cultural background to British and American literature from the Anglo-Saxon period and the Colonial period to the twentieth century. Students will study about major writers and their representative works representing prominent literary movements, with an emphasis on characteristics, elements, contents, techniques, and values that have contributed to and influenced the development and evolution of the literary canon of the United Kingdom and the United States. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to explain an overview of backgrounds of British and American literature, analyze and criticize selected literary works, and develop discussions and critical responses in various contexts. The course offers students a comprehensive foundation for further studies in English literature and prepares them to engage critically with the rich literary heritage.

รายวิชานี้ศึกษาความรู้พื้นฐานทางด้านสังคมวิทยา ที่มาของสังคมวิทยาและทฤษฎีของนักคิดสังคมวิทยา สถาบันสังคมและหน้าที่ของสถาบันสังคมต่าง ๆ การจัดระเบียบทางสังคมและบรรทัดฐานทางสังคม กลุ่มทางสังคม การจัดระดับชั้นทางสังคม การขัดเกลาสังคม และการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมซึ่งรวมไปถึงทฤษฎีการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม พฤติกรรมเบี่ยงเบนกับการเสียระเบียบในสังคม การเคลื่อนไหวทางสังคม รวมทั้งวัฒนธรรมในด้านต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ ความขัดแย้งทางวัฒนธรรม การผสมผสานและการกระจายทางวัฒนธรรม ชาติพันธุ์นิยม และอิทธิพลของวัฒนธรรม เป็นต้น เพื่อให้นักศึกษาเข้าใจและนำไปปรับใช้กับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสังคมในปัจจุบัน โดยนักศึกษาจะเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการสื่อสารต่างวัฒนธรรม และแรงงานสัมพันธ์โดยใช้กรณีศึกษาของต่างประเทศซึ่งเน้นนโยบายแรงงานต่างชาติ ผลกระทบที่ได้รับจากแรงงานต่างชาติ รวมไปถึงสถานการณ์ตลาดแรงงานที่เป็นกรณีศึกษาในประเทศต่าง ๆ
This course studies the fundamental knowledge of sociology, the origins of sociology and the theories of sociologists, social institutions and the roles of social institutions, social organization and social norms, social groups, social stratification, socialization, social changes and social change theories, deviant behaviors and social disorganization, social movement, and culture in different aspects such as cultural conflicts, acculturation and cultural diffusion, ethnocentrism and cultural influence. This course enables student to understand and apply these course contents to current social changes. Students also learn intercultural communication and industrial relations using case studies from foreign countries with the emphasis on foreign labor policies, the impacts of foreign labor, and the current situations of labor markets with case studies from different countries.

This course aims to understand authentic Thai cuisine and cultures by prepare, taste, serve, and evaluate traditional, regional dishes of Thai Cuisine on the regional Thai cuisines of Central, North, Northeast and South. The course will explore both ancient and modern culinary attributes of Thailand. Focus will be placed on ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles from the major regions whose overlapping geography have created both commonalities and distinct culinary traditions across Thailand. We will compare and contrast how similar ingredients are utilized in different ways among these regions to create distinguishable flavor profiles and iconic dishes associated with each region. Students will engage in lecture, hands-on cooking classes, and evaluation of dishes by the instructors and classmates.
