Walailak University organized the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for the 2025 Academic Year on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Main Auditorium, Thai Buri Building, Walailak University. Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presided over the ceremony, joined by external scholarship donors, university executives, faculty members, parents, students, and distinguished guests, totaling over 300 attendees.

The ceremony aimed to deliver educational opportunities to students with strong academic potential who face financial constraints or lack necessary funds. It also served as a platform to express gratitude and honor various organizations, foundations, and generous benefactors who support scholarships, playing a vital role in easing students’ financial burdens and enabling them to complete their studies and grow into quality graduates for society.

Regarding scholarship allocations for the 2025 academic year, there were 175 funding sources supporting a total of 1,125 scholarship recipients, amounting to an overall sum of 73,496,950 baht. This comprises 48,301,000 baht from the university’s budget and 25,195,950 baht from external donors and sponsors. This reflects the university’s commitment to student support alongside robust collaboration from external partners in creating concrete educational opportunities.

On this occasion, the President emphasized the importance of scholarships as a vital mechanism enabling talented yet financially disadvantaged students to complete their higher education. He encouraged scholarship recipients to utilize the granted funds genuinely for educational purposes, study diligently, conduct themselves well with discipline, and maintain a volunteer spirit to help society in return for the kindness and sacrifices of the donors.
