Walailak Volunteers Carry Forward the Legacy of "The Mother and Teacher of the Land" to Communities: 2nd Edition - Protecting the Thai Seas
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the Creative Activity Development Division, through the WU Volunteer student group under the Center for Student Promotion and Development, organized the volunteer project “Walailak Volunteers: Carrying Forward the Legacy of ‘The Mother and Teacher of the Land’ to Communities: 2nd Edition – Protecting the Thai Seas” at the Sahathai Foundation Learning Center and the Blue Swimming Crab Bank Learning Center, Ban Nai Thung Community, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Marisa Poomiphak Na Nongkhai, Director of the Center for Student Promotion and Development, and Lecturer Nutchanart Rodsa-ard, Deputy Director, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered inspiring remarks to encourage positive attitudes and creative energy among all participating students.
Key Activities Included:
- “Volunteer Heart” Activity: Students learned volunteer work processes and environmental awareness from the Sahathai Foundation Youth and Family Learning Center on the topic “Accessing Inner Goodness to Benefit Others” through practical learning stations guided by Center staff and community mentors.
The event was warmly received by staff at both learning centers. A total of 118 students participated, achieving a 100 percent overall satisfaction rating at the “high to highest” level.
