On August 12-13, 2026, the Modern Pentathlon Association of Thailand, led by Capt. Choksathit Boonthom, Head of the Modern Pentathlon Branch Office (Sattahip), and delegation, surveyed competition areas for the Laser Run and Triathle events at Walailak University, host of the upcoming University Games scheduled for January 21-30, 2027. The competition dates for the modern pentathlon events are proposed for January 27-28, 2027, with venue details considered as follows:

Walailak University Swimming Pool:

The university’s standard 50-meter swimming pool is well-equipped to support swimming competitions.

• Scheduling Consideration: Prior coordination is required to check and align the timetable with other swimming competitions scheduled during the same period.

Tumpang Stadium:

The 400-meter track and athletics field serve as the primary area for the 600-meter running route and the Laser Range target setup zone.

• Target Placement (Laser Range): Tents and laser shooting tables can be safely set up along the grassy perimeter alongside the 400-meter track without obstructing the main running path.
• 600-Meter Route Setup: Can be configured using one lap of the track (400 meters) combined with an additional 200-meter loop around the stadium grounds.
• Management with Other Running Events: Due to potential scheduling overlaps with main track events, it is recommended to request venue handover immediately after the main running events conclude for smooth Laser Run/Triathle equipment setup.
