On May 12, 2026, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, along with Asst. Prof. Thanasan Theparat, Assistant to the President for Student Promotion and Development; Asst. Prof. Dr. Nukul Suksuwan, Assistant to the President for Physical and Infrastructure; Asst. Prof. Dr. Marisa Poomiphak Na Nongkhai, Director of the Center for Student Promotion and Development; and Mr. Sonthaya Kongchai, Head of the Buildings and Grounds Division, together with staff from the Buildings and Grounds Division and the Arts and Culture Preservation Division, inspected the construction progress of the Southern Arts and Culture Learning Center, “Walailak Cultural Ashram.” Currently, the building’s progress is at 96 percent and is expected to open for service around August 2026.
