Walailak University Organizes "The Best Speech of WU 2026" Speech Contest to Promote Students' Communication Skills
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Center for Student Promotion and Development, Walailak University, organized “The Best Speech of WU 2026,” a TED Talk-style speech contest at the Main Auditorium, Thai Buri Building. Asst. Prof. Thanasan Theparat, Assistant to the President for Student Promotion and Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marisa Poomiphak Na Nongkhai, Director of the Center for Student Promotion and Development; along with Acting Sub Lt. Worawit Praditkarn, Deputy Director, division heads, and staff of the Center for Student Promotion and Development, attended to listen to the contest.
This activity is part of the “Wednesday Afternoon” project, which focuses on developing the communication skills of first-year students in the 2025 academic year by adapting the event format to be modern and in line with the lifestyle of Gen Z students.
Competition Results:
• Powerful Speaker Award and Popular Vote: Team Powerpuff Meds of SAH (School of Allied Health Sciences)
• Best Presentation Award: Team Start with smile, shine like global (Walailak University International College of Dentistry)
• Innovative Presentation Award: Team Phamasee (School of Pharmacy)
• Inspiring Idea Award: Team Pharma spirit (School of Pharmacy)
The activity was conducted in a hybrid format, both on-site at the Main Auditorium, Thai Buri Building, and online via Zoom at the Lecture Building. The satisfaction evaluation results showed that participating students were satisfied with the overall activity at 84.6 percent.
