Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion Co-Hosts Annual Kathin Ceremony 2024 on Behalf of Walailak University to Support the Construction of an Ordination Hall at Wat Bonthanon
Walailak University co-hosted the Annual Kathin Ceremony 2024 to raise funds for the construction of an ordination hall at Wat Bonthanon, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
On October 25, 2024, Walailak University, through the Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion, co-hosted the Annual Kathin Ceremony on behalf of the university at Wat Bonthanon, Pho Thong Subdistrict, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The ceremony aimed to contribute funds for the construction of the temple’s ordination hall.
The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Urai Jareeprapal, Vice President of Walailak University, who presented the Kathin robes to the monks. Attendees included Dr. Suthasinee Saengkham, Vice President; Assistant Professor Dr. Arthit Boonrodchu, Head of the Division of Student Promotion and Development; administrators; faculty members; staff; students; Buddhist devotees; and benefactors from various sectors, all of whom joined together in merit-making.
The university successfully coordinated and collected donations from benefactors, various organizations, and students, raising a total of 284,491.25 THB. The funds will be contributed toward the construction of the ordination hall at Wat Bonthanon. This effort not only upholds the long-standing Buddhist tradition of the Kathin Ceremony but also strengthens the bond between the university and surrounding communities.
