Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion of Walailak University Showcases “Tumpang and Nora” Exhibition at WALAILAK Nakhon Si SDG SERIES

Walailak University, through its Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion, presented the exhibition “Tumpang and Nora” at the WALAILAK Nakhon Si SDG SERIES, highlighting local culture as a driving force toward sustainable development.

On Friday, 6 June 2025, the Division of Arts and Culture Promotion, Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion, Walailak University, participated in the WALAILAK Nakhon Si SDG SERIES organized by the Walailak University Academic Service Center at Yawboranakorn Building, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The purpose of the exhibition was to disseminate knowledge and showcase the university’s efforts in preserving local arts and culture while aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the social and cultural dimensions.

The “Tumpang and Nora” exhibition presented the development of the Tumpang archaeological site into a dynamic cultural and historical learning space through the integration of modern technology such as multimedia and immersive tools like AR/VR, creating engaging learning experiences for both youth and the general public. The exhibition also highlighted the advancement of Nora, the traditional Southern Thai dance theatre, toward sustainable development through research, creative economy value creation, and pathways to international recognition. This initiative not only reflected the cultural heritage and identity of the local community but also underscored Walailak University’s role in driving cultural capital toward balanced social, economic, and environmental development.
