The Center for Student Promotion and Development, Walailak University, through the Arts and Culture Preservation Division, organized a short-term training project on Nora performing arts for children and youth under the program series “Elevating the Wisdom Heritage of Nora towards Sustainability,” conducted under the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG) from April 25–27, 2026, at Laboratory Room 216, Sports Science Building, Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The training was attended by over 20 primary and lower secondary school students. Participants received both theoretical and practical knowledge covering key elements of Nora performing arts, such as basic dance postures, rhythms, music, as well as the forms and components of Nora performances. Asst. Prof. Supat Naksen from Nakhon Si Thammarat College of Dramatic Arts served as the guest speaker, sharing knowledge, skills, and performing arts experience with the youth.

The activity aimed to build knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the value and importance of Thai arts and culture, especially “Nora,” a valuable cultural and wisdom heritage of Southern Thailand. It also provided opportunities for youth to learn through hands-on practice, enhancing performing arts skills, pride in local identity, and inspiration to preserve and pass on this cultural heritage sustainably.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Marisa Poomiphak Na Nongkhai presided over the certificate presentation ceremony to boost the morale of participating youth and encourage continuous development in performing arts. This initiative aims to foster a new generation with knowledge, pride, and active involvement in sustainably preserving Thai arts and culture, especially Nora performing arts, within Thai society.
