July 13, 2026 – Walailak University is moving forward with full preparations to host the 52nd University Games of Thailand, the ‘Tumpang Games.’ Most recently, a consultative meeting was held with the Nakhon Si Thammarat Tourism Business Association at the Tumpang Sinlapakan Building, Walailak University. The meeting was honored by Dr. Mongkol Theerananon, Vice President for University Relations and Development, acting as Chairman of the Benefits and Revenue Generation Department, who presided over the meeting. Assistant Professor Dr. Marisa Poomipak Na Nongkhai, Director of the Center for Student Promotion and Development, acting as Committee Member and Secretary, along with the Benefits and Revenue Generation Committee of Walailak University, attended the meeting in full force. The primary objective of this consultative meeting was to tangibly integrate cooperation between Walailak University and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Tourism Business Association. This collaboration aims to prepare for the reception of athletes, coaches, followers, and supporters from higher education institutions nationwide who will visit Nakhon Si Thammarat during the competition period, with a large influx of visitors expected. Dr. Mongkol Theerananon emphasized to the meeting the importance of hosting the ‘Tumpang Games,’ stating, ‘This competition is not only an important platform to promote sports excellence among youth in higher education but also an excellent opportunity to stimulate the regional economy and promote Nakhon Si Thammarat’s tourism to a wider audience.’

Furthermore, Dr. Mongkol added that the university’s Benefits and Revenue Generation Committee is pleased and ready to welcome cooperation from all sectors, both public and private, to act as excellent hosts and create the highest level of impression for all attendees. This cooperation between Walailak University and the Tourism Business Association marks a significant step in preparing facilities, accommodations, and transportation. This ensures that the 52nd University Games of Thailand, the ‘Tumpang Games,’ will proceed grandly, honorably, and continue to build a national reputation for Nakhon Si Thammarat province.
