Walailak University Participates in the International Hae Pha Khun That Makha Bucha Festival in Nakhon Si Thammarat 2026

มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ เข้าร่วมงานมาฆบูชาแห่ผ้าขึ้นธาตุนานาชาติที่เมืองนคร ประจำปี 2569

 

On March 3, 2026, Walailak University participated in the International Hae Pha Khun That Makha Bucha Festival in Nakhon Si Thammarat 2026 under the project “Phra Borommathat: Dharma Heritage, World Heritage, Connecting the Srivijaya Route, Opening the ASEAN Community Door,” held at Sanam Na Mueang, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The ceremony was honored by Mr. Somchai Leelanoi, Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, who presided over the procession of the royal Phra Bot cloths, bestowed Phra Bot cloths, and Phra Bot cloths from public and private sectors. Dr. Mongkol Teerananond, Vice President for University Relations and Development, Walailak University, joined the ceremony.

On this occasion, the Center for Student Promotion and Development, together with the School of Liberal Arts, led by Lecturer Dr. Kamonthip Klaibanmai, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, brought students, international students, and university staff to fully participate in the Phra Bot cloth procession on behalf of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Higher Education Institutions Network.

The objective of participating in this event was to encourage students and staff to take part in preserving, continuing, and building upon the Hae Pha Khun That tradition on Makha Bucha Day, a significant tradition of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It also aimed to engage in Buddhist activities to sustainably maintain this valuable cultural heritage.
