Walailak University Organizes the Annual Hai Than Fai (Fire Merit-Making) Tradition 2025
On December 25, 2025, Walailak University, through the Center for Student Promotion and Development, organized the annual Hai Than Fai tradition at the Dharma Courtyard, Walailak University, to encourage students, staff, and the general public to realize the beautiful cultural traditions of Buddhists.
On this occasion, Phra Kru Sujin Khemakun, Tha Sala Subdistrict Monk Dean, graciously presided over the monk’s ceremony. Dr. Mongkol Teerananond, Vice President for University Relations and Development, was honored to preside over the ceremony, along with Asst. Prof. Thanasan Theparat, Assistant to the President for Student Promotion and Development, Acting Sub Lt. Worawit Praditkarn, Deputy Director of the Center, as well as executives, faculty, staff, students, the Tha Sala District Cultural Council, and over 300 devotees in attendance. Fire merit was offered to 19 Buddhist monks. The event featured 26 fire merit-making booths from both internal and external university departments. Attendees jointly made merit to support arts, culture, and religion, raising a total of 10,573.25 baht.
