Walailak University Showcases “Nora: Dance Theatre in Southern Thailand” at the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Conference 2025

The Division of Arts and Culture Promotion, under the Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion, Walailak University, jointly organized the exhibition “Nora: Dance Theatre in Southern Thailand” at the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Conference 2025, held under the theme “Geo-Social Connection: The Continuing Journey of Critical Inquiry.” The conference took place from 23–25 July 2025 at Twin Lotus Hotel, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, hosted by the School of Political Science and Public Administration, Walailak University.

✅ The exhibition “Nora: Dance Theatre in Southern Thailand” is part of the research program “Nora: Cultural Capital for Sustainable Development,” supported by the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG). The project aims to study the potential of Nora as a form of cultural capital that can generate added value in economic, social, and cultural dimensions.

✅ This exhibition highlights the knowledge and diverse perspectives of Nora, reflecting its role as a local art form in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which emphasizes the preservation, promotion, and sustainable utilization of cultural heritage through community participation.
