Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion organizes the Short Cultural Course on the Nora Dance project to convey cultural heritage to international students.

On 17-18 June 2023, the Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion at Walailak University will organize a Short Cultural Course on the Nora Dance project to exchange knowledge of southern folk performing arts “Nora Dance” for international students. Walailak University We were honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worawut Somsak, Acting Vice President and Asst. Prof. Dr. Marisa Phumkam Na Nongkhai, Acting Director of the Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion jointly welcomed students participating in the project
 
The Short Cultural Course on Nora Dance project is a basic Nora dance training program. “Twelve postures of Nora dancing” taught by Asst. Prof. Supat Nakasen, a teacher from Nakhon Si Thammarat College of Dramatic Arts. The “Twelve postures of Nora dancing” is considered the basic dance posture of Nora dancing. There are 30 students from 5 countries including Myanmar, Ethiopia, Zambian, Philippines, and Thai students. You will learn body bending, and basic dance moves, practice Nora’s lines, and after completing the activity there will be a test. Divided into groups to practice and perform twelve Nora dance moves for teachers and project participants to watch. After completing the training, students participating in the project will receive a certificate of closing speech from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worawut Somsak, Acting Vice-Rector.
